A New Jersey woman has been sentenced to a year in jail and a $25,000 fine for selling drugs.
Mary Elizabeth Gaddes-Gonzalez was sentenced Monday, Oct. 24, 2012, to a three-year prison term and a $25,000 fine.
The trial was called by the State Attorney General's Office, the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, the Eastern District of New York, the Department of Justice, the Eastern Division of the State Attorney General's Office, the New Jersey Public Interest Finance Commission, the New York State Department of Education, and the New Jersey Attorney General's Office. Gaddes-Gonzalez was a resident of the New Jersey State Roadrunner Township in Essex County, and had been sentenced to three years in prison for selling a controlled substance.
The sentencing comes after the investigation found Gaddes-Gonzalez had supplied, stored and used controlled substances in the past three weeks and had been in contact with a victim, said Assistant State Attorney General George G. Stuckey.
A federal indictment alleges Gaddes-Gonzalez distributed between $500 and $1,000 in controlled substances, including Viagra, Cialis, Tadalafil, Adderall, and Cialis products.
Gaddes-Gonzalez was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance.
According to court documents, Gaddes-Gonzalez was also charged with one count of trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances, which were discovered and used by a pharmacy, in connection with a drug case. The charges were dismissed on March 27, 2012.
Gaddes-Gonzalez has been scheduled to appear in court Monday at 10 a.m. at the Old Colony Inn.
In sentencing, the court will consider the factors outlined in the plea agreement, which are set out in the sentencing order. Gaddes-Gonzalez will be sentenced by a jury on October 2, 2012, at the Old Colony Inn.

A Chicago man has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit Viagra.
John M. Cunha, 45, was convicted of three counts of conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit drugs. In addition, he was found guilty of trafficking in counterfeit cigarettes, money laundering, and money laundering under U. S. Sentencing Guidelines (Guidelines).
The court's decision today is the first of its kind in the country for counterfeit drugs.
Cunha was arrested on July 17 at a Chicago convenience store. He is now facing federal charges, including conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit drugs.
Cunha was indicted in March 2020 for conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit drugs and for trafficking in counterfeit cigarettes. He was also charged with two counts of conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit cigarettes and two counts of trafficking in counterfeit cigarettes.
According to court records, Cunha's first offense was a minor traffic stop of a car. The next stop was at a convenience store.
The next stop was a traffic stop of a vehicle at a Chicago-area vehicle lot on December 2. Cunha and the driver, Scott, allegedly drove back to Cunha's residence and then back to Cunha's home and then to his vehicle.
Cunha admitted he did not know where the vehicle was headed until the driver told him it was headed to his car.
Cunha then made a sworn statement to police that the vehicle was headed to his vehicle.
The next stop was at a Cunha's residence in South Lake Park, Illinois. Cunha and another man, David, drove up in the Cunha's car to the Cunha's residence.
According to court records, Cunha and the man drove up to the Cunha's residence. They told him they would go in and search the car.
The man was also arrested and charged with the same crimes.
Cunha was sentenced to two months in federal prison for conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit cigarettes and two months for trafficking in counterfeit cigarettes.
The U. Sentencing Guidelines (Guidelines) also recommend that Cunha be sentenced to a reduced sentence of six months in federal prison for the conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit cigarettes.
